What is "the" "feeling of relatedness"?

What comes to mind is a feeling that presents itself as "I disagree with that; that pisses me off; I'm not like that." The content of that thought/feeling is often (always?) false because when there's no feeling of being *like that*, or of *something wrong with being like that*, then there's also no need to feel that one is *not like that*. Is that the feeling of relatedness you're getting at in the context of this section on love?

Is it some more basic sense of me-over-here and you-over-there, or experiencing the situation as having separate participants?

Something else?
