Some bon mots to clear the palate

Intimacy is not a feeling, but rather feeling, in itself.

There is no “there” fundamentally better or worse than “here”. There is no reason to leave “here”. There is no reason to stay “here”.

Other people’s insights are are not intrinsically useful, but they may inspire your own insights, which are then your own.

The body is always generating new perspectives.

The best explanations are non-explanations, because they don’t add a framework to reality:  “Why do you like her?” “Chemistry”.

Psychological continuity is like the continuity of a city—it generally changes gradually, slowly becoming more and more different from its past; occasionally some event occurs, such as war or natural disaster, which causes a radical and immediate transformation.

Understanding life tends to militate against living life.

The past provides pleasurable reminiscing. The future provides pleasurable daydreaming. 

Reasoning is a form of imagination: first, you make up the criteria, then you make up a decision based on a made up line drawn in the sand.

Boredom is a call to enjoy the warm feelings always available in every moment.

Ways of being are transmitted via resonance.

The root meaning of speech is the disposition it communicates: the implications of my current worldview is that I feel the way I am feeling now.

If you don’t need things to go well, you can enjoy that you want things to go well.

What to do in any circumstance: if clear, act.  If not, wait, watch, and see what happens.  Navigate by whole-body resonance.

All problems are resolved when you recognize there isn’t a problem in the first place.

Unfortunate circumstances do not create heart-contraction.   Heart-contraction creates the appearance of unfortunate circumstances.

The beautiful paradox of simultaneous perfect liberation from caring and perfect caring.
